2020 Fuji Rakan 1.1 Test Ride and First Impressions

Fuji was kind enough to let us take the 2020 29" Rakan 1.1 for a solid day of riding and we wanted to give our honest feedback on what we liked about the bike.

First off Fuji has gone above and beyond when it comes to the Rakan. With some modern Geometry specs and the new M-Link suspension system, the Rakan 1.1 was is a solid choice if you are looking for a do it all mountain bike.

With 130mm in the front and 120mm of suspension in the back, the Rakan had plenty of travel during drops and was able to handle just about everything we could put in front of it. The Rakan features Rock Pike Select 29 DebonAir, with a tapered alloy steerer forks. In the back, Rock Shox Deluxe Select+ RL shock utilizing the 4 bar M-Link design. With this front and rear combo, you can be sure that your bike is ready for the next adventure.

The Rakan 1.1 comes out of the box with a Sram GX Eagle 1x12-speed derailer which is a great value for this Fuji. The bike climbs really well and keeps your bike chatter down during your rides.

The Fuji also comes with a KS LEV SI dropper Seatpost which saves you a ton of time while climbing or descending. Yet another small detail Fuji took into consideration while designing this Rakan that we appreciate.

All in all this Fuji was a blast to ride and had the right components to handle just about anything we could throw at it. We had a lot of fun on the bike and this 2020 Rakan 1.1 is a serious contender on the market. Fuji has taken their time with this model and they really listened to what riders want in a mountain bike. We think this bike was a great value for the price, and we look forward to testing out their other new 2020 models.
